From cassettes to computers
I am Rūdolfs Caune, better known behind the decks as DJ Bacon. I am a music and video DJ from Riga, Latvia, and mixing has been my long-running creative hobby. This archive brings together audio mixes, video mixes, mashups, workout sets, and party soundtracks made across more than two decades.
My first experiments began around 1995 with two cassette players. By the end of 1998, I had moved to a computer, learning by recording, cutting, and arranging tracks with the tools available at the time.
Learning by experimenting
The process grew from the basic Windows Sound Recorder and Wave Studio to Sound Forge, and later to MixMeister for structured workout mixes. Along the way I also explored ModPlug Tracker, FL Studio, eJay, and Adobe Audition.
The software has changed, but the approach has stayed the same: stay curious, try ideas, and make energetic mixes for the fun of it. This site preserves that work as an independent, bilingual archive.
Away from mixing, I enjoy the outdoors, computer and board games, music, and films.
